Proposal to amend CMM 2024-08 for Pacific Saury
According to paragraphs 8 and 9 of current CMM 2024-08, after calculating the annual total allowable catch (TAC) and the reduced reported catch of each member in 2018, the latter figure (paragraph 9) remains significantly higher than the TAC (paragraph 8). Based on the recommendations of SSC PS14 and SC09, which state that the stock biomass of Pacific saury has remained at low levels in recent years, we propose adjusting the number in paragraph 9 to match that of paragraph 8, along with revisions to paragraphs 7 and 8 in line with these recommendations.
Since Paragraph 10(b) was agreed upon at the last annual meeting as a temporary provision, we propose its deletion.
