Comparing season-, area-, and member-specific size composition of Pacific saury using catch-at-size (CAS) data

We investigated the season-, area-, and member-specific size composition of Pacific saury using catch-at-size (CAS) data, with the purpose of facilitating discussion on how to include the CAS information into the stock assessment models. The fish size distributions showed distinct patterns in inshore and offshore areas in some years, seasons, and members, indicating differences in the fish availability between the two areas. The comparison of size distribution among members also showed that the shapes of the histograms were not similar in some cases, indicating that the size selectivity varied among the members.
