Proposal to amend CMM 2025-08 for Pacific Saury

    Agenda Sub-Group
    Documents submitted directly to COM10

Noting that substantial uncertainties persist in the current BSSPM stock assessments for Pacific saury, stemming from factors such as environmental variables, the correlation between CPUE and biomass, and high variability in the spatial distribution of fishing grounds. The omission of these factors from current assessment model may result in an overly pessimistic view of the stock status. Consequently, achieving a full recovery to Btar within a five-year timeframe may be practically unfeasible.

In view of the above, Chinese Taipei proposes amendments to Annex 1.
